Camp Teh-Luh-Lah is a summer camp for youth held annually for the last twenty years in Chimayo, New Mexico. The mission of the camp is to inculcate spiritual values of each youth's tradition into their teachings. By having ten days each summer to run around the forest, play at the river, swim in the swimming hole, participate in the ceremonies inside the tipi, employing tobacco ties, etc., and sleep in tents around the five acre sanctuary, we hope for them to be able to experience and strengthen childhood memories collectively, while getting a much needed break from their, all too often, highly-pressurized lives in urban areas, or in houses where too many of them deal with ongoing issues of intergenerational substance disorder, and thus need to either recover themselves, help a family member to do the same, either way to strengthen their inner connections.
